TRY & STOP US

TryZone

TryZone is a programme for young people in Forfar that offers a safe, welcoming place to take part in activities, make friends and try new things. Delivered in partnership with Angus Council’s Vibrant Communities Team, Strathmore Cricket Club and Angus Active Schools, the programme was created to give young people positive opportunities to get involved in their community, build confidence, develop new skills and help reduce youth anti-social behaviour in the town.

Each week, young people can choose from a range of activities including sport and creative sessions. While rugby is one of the activities on offer, TryZone is about much more than sport. The programme is built around rugby values of respect, teamwork, discipline, enjoyment and inclusion, encouraging young people to support one another, take responsibility and build positive relationships.

TryZone aligns closely with the Planet Youth initiative in Angus. Sessions are currently delivered after school at Forfar Academy, Strathmore Primary School, Whitehills Primary School and Langlands Primary School, making it easy for young people to get involved.
