Grant Funding Consultant
I have worked with the Trust since September 2019 in a consultancy role. As a former Strathmore RFC player, I wanted to give something back to the club which provided many years of enjoyment for me. Having a young family means it is difficult for me to commit to a coaching role however when I heard about the Trust, I thought that would be a great way to support a local organisation that is linked to Strathmore RFC.
I enjoy being able to help grow the organisation. The work we do in the community is brilliant and being able to support our projects financially and provide sustainability for the Trust is very rewarding. Personally, the role is developing my grant writing skills. Being involved with the growth and planning for the Trust has also developed my strategic thinking.
I have worked in the sport and recreation industry for 16 years. For the past 13 years I have worked within Angus Education Department as an Active Schools Coordinator. This provides a great link into local schools and an experience of what else is happening across the community. My Active Schools role involves creating partnerships and I have been able to share these links with the Trust. My ASC role also involves grant writing and this experience has also helped in gaining funding for the Trust.
