Love talking about Sport? Then why not join the FREE Sporting Memories club in Forfar

Strathmore Community Rugby Trust in partnership with Strathmore Cricket Club and supported by Forfar Community Sports Hub are delighted to be hosting a brand-new weekly club for older sports fans. Sporting Memories, a Great Britain-wide charity, are bringing their unique blend of sports reminiscence, fun activities, and quizzes to Forfar on Monday mornings at 10.30am till 12 noon at Strathmore Cricket Club.

The Sporting Memories club is part of an innovative weekly programme of activities for older people in Forfar designed to improve physical and mental wellbeing whilst hoping to develop stronger community connections between local residents. Provided by local partners, activities include walking football, rugby, health walks and the opportunity to meet socially over a cuppa!

All activities welcome members aged 50+ from all backgrounds but especially those who may be living with a long-term conditions such as dementia, depression or living in isolation and lonely circumstances.

The club is fully inclusive and it’s a great opportunity for local people from all backgrounds to not only share their stories but to also partake in a weekly session that ignites memories through photographs and quizzes.  The club encourages members to get and keep active again with a range of fun games and simple exercises. And if that isn’t enough, the club will also provide a range of refreshments (normally with some biscuits included as well) at half-time to keep you going!
